Preparation for the World Meeting of Families, August 2018

The Icon of the Holy Family, blessed by Pope Francis for use at the World Meeting of Families, will visit the following Dublin parishes this week:

St. Patrick’s Church, Ringsend  Monday 7th – Wednesday 9th May

Monday 7th May
10.00am Parish Mass
3.00pm Arrival of Icon and Prayer Service conducted by Rev. Tom Groves, Deacon of Ringsend Parish
3.30pm-6.30pm Time for Private Prayer at the Icon
7.00pm Mass – Main Celebrant Bishop Raymond Field

Tuesday 8th May
10.00am Mass – Celebrant Mgr. Dan O’Connor
11.00am-12.00 noon Sacrament of Penance
11.00am-3.00pm Private Prayer
3.00pm Divine Mercy Hour conducted by Divine Mercy Prayer Group
7.00pm Healing Prayer Service conducted by Canticle Singers and Anointing of the Sick – Celebrant Mgr. Dan O’Connor

Wednesday 9th May
10.00am Farewell Prayer Service conducted by Sr. Maria Kenny RSC, Parish Sister Ringsend
7.00pm Usual Parish Mass

St. Gabriel’s Church, Dollymount  Wednesday 9th – Friday 11th May

Wednesday 9th May
Arrival of the Icon – there will be a short opening ceremony at 2pm and at 7.30pm a service of Prayer, Reflection and Music.

Thursday 10th May
At 7.30pm Fr. Damien McNeice will give a talk on the Icon, describing the work involved in writing it and pointing out the minute details.  The church will be open from 8am to 9pm to allow for visitors who may be busy during the days.

Friday 11th May
The Icon will depart after 10am Mass on Friday.  All are welcome.
