Information nights on parish resources
in preparation for
World Meeting of Families (WMOF)
The WMOF team is making available a set of pastoral resources for parishes in preparation for the World Meeting of Families in August 2018. These resources will be ready from September 2017:
- A menu of community and family-based activities called Let’s Be family. These include guidelines for a range of practical and often fun activities that can be organised in parishes to celebrate family life in all its diversity.
- A video-based programme called Let’s Talk family. This is about Pope Francis’ The Joy of Love. It can be used in parishes to enable small groups respond to Pope Francis’ request that we reflect on and discuss his document on the family
- A video-based short training programme called Leader’s Guide that can equip a small team of volunteers in parishes or clusters to organise some of the above over the coming year.
Parishes around the country have expressed interest in knowing a bit more about what will be available in September. For that reason we are holding information evenings across the country in the coming month for representatives of parishes who are interested now in preparing for the World Meeting of Families. These meetings will give a detailed outline of the resources and how they can be availed of. They will provide an opportunity before the Summer for parishes to think about what they might like to do after the Summer.
The meetings for Dublin Diocese are for 7.30pm as follows:
|Monday June 26th – Newlands Cross
(Louis Fitzgerald Hotel)
|Wednesday June 28th – Clonliffe College|
|Tuesday June 27th – Clonliffe College||Thursday June 29th – Killiney (Johnstown Pastoral Centre, Churchview Rd, Glenageary)|
If your parish is interested in getting the information on the pastoral resources before the summer please arrange for a small group of representatives to attend one of the meetings on the night of your choice. Do contact me if you have any queries. Thank you for your kind attention.
