Vacancy for Parish Accounts Administrator – Rathgar

Rathgar Parish is currently recruiting a Parish Accounts Administrator. This role is offered initially on a one year fixed term / part-time basis, Monday – Friday for 20 hours per week (9am – 1pm).

Reporting to the Parish Priest, the duties include:

  1. Maintaining and up-dating computerised accounts using Accounts IQ
  2. Producing quarterly reports for the Parish Finance Committee
  3. Assisting the parish in reclaiming tax on donations
  4. Preparing and processing payroll for staff members
  5. Providing an administrative service to Rathgar Parish, including the Parish Centre Management Committee
  6. Managing the parish office with the effective use of up-to-date office systems
  7. Receiving members of the public and dealing with enquiries
  8. Recording and managing parish records


 The successful candidate will have at least 5 years administrative experience

  • Robust book-keeping experience. A certificate in Accounting Technicians of Ireland (IATI) is desirable
  • Experience of Accounts IQ is also desirable
  • Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and work as part of a team

Vacancy for Sacramental Co-ordinator – Meath St. Parish

The Parish of St. Catherine of Alexandria is situated on Meath Street, a vibrant commercial street in the heart of Dublin’s Liberties.  It is the oldest parish in the Archdiocese of Dublin.  In this area mention of a church or shrine to St. Catherine goes back to the 13th Century.  The parish is very typically old Dublin with a strong and proud presence of people who have lived in the area for generations.  It is a very friendly and welcoming part of the city due in a large part to the people who live here.  The Parish is managed by the Augustinian Friars since 1974 who put great emphasis on community and hospitality and working together for mission and faith with their lay-partners.

This role is being offered on a part-time (15 hours per week) and temporary basis.  The purpose of the role is to deliver the Sacramental Programmes through the training and support of parents and act as a link between parish, parents and schools.

Reporting to the Parish Priest, the Sacramental Co-ordinator will:

  • Organise masses in the parish church for the school and in particular the classes receiving the sacraments;
  • Support the recruitment of parents and deliver training to parents and leaders of the programmes and provide catechetical engagement on relevant topics for discussion;
  • Link with teachers and act as a liaison between parish and school with regard to planning events;
  • Engage with parents of children attending non-catholic schools regarding the sacramental programmes;
  • Carry out the necessary administration to organise the communion and confirmation programme and the ceremonies;


  • The successful candidate must be a practising baptised Roman Catholic;
  • BA in Theology is desirable;
  • Be able to demonstrate a commitment to personal faith development and learning;
  • Familiarity with the communion and confirmation programme;
  • Facilitation skills and experience of providing learning interventions to adults;
  • Excellent IT skills with a knowledge of social media;
  • Be a team player and be highly organised using time effectively to meet deadlines.

Vacancy for the Position of Leader of Children’s Choir – Monkstown Parish

St. Patrick’s Parish Monkstown is looking for a musician to take on the leadership of the Children’s Choir.

The ideal candidate will be able to play either a guitar or piano/keyboard.  The Mass time is currently 10:30 am and following the Mass there is a short rehearsal for the following Sunday, so the time commitment is from 10.00am until approximately 12.00 noon on Sunday mornings.  The ideal candidate will have an interest in Liturgy, can work well with children.

The position would be subject to Garda vetting and compliance with the Diocesan Safeguarding Policies.
