Training night on parish resources

in preparation for

World Meeting of Families (WMOF)

The WMOF team has put together a set of pastoral resources for parishes in preparation for WMOF 2018.   These are now available on-line at and Printed copies will be available from mid-September. The resources include the following:

  • Practical Initiatives for Popular Moments – a menu of 14 activities covering sacramental and family moments throughout the year including Baptism, Marriage, First Communion, Confirmation, November Memorial, Christmas, St. Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day and so on up to the Summer of 2018.
  • The Joy of Love Parish Conversations – a six-session discussion programme exploring key elements of Pope Francis’ document on the family, Amoris Laetitita.
  • Facilitator’s Guide – basic training for pastoral leaders and local volunteers on how to work with the above resources.

Training nights will be held to introduce these resources to parishes and to equip teams of volunteers to organise some of the activities. These nights can be used by parishes in either of two ways. You can send some volunteers along whom you intend will take responsibility for WMOF preparations in your parish. The session should equip them to take some practical initiatives according to their own judgement on what is desirable and feasible or people in leadership roles can attend who, in turn, will provide training for volunteers in your parish.  The session will start at 7.30pm and conclude by 10.00pm.  If this is of interest to your parish please arrange for representatives to attend on one of the following nights:

Wednesday Sept 27th –  Tallaght Maldron Hotel Thursday Sept 28th  –  Clonliffe College
Monday Oct 2nd  – Glenview Hotel, Glen of the Downs Wednesday Oct 4thClonliffe College
