Do something different this Lent – Join us in Holy Spirit Pastoral Centre, Limekiln Lane,  Greenhills, Dublin 12  this Wednesdays  at 7.30pm   27th March .  Sean Goan will be our speaker on the 20th  speaking on the theme “Lent & Easter, with the Gospel of St Luke”. Fr Alan Hilliard will be our speaker on Wednesday 27th March looking at  “Pope Francis’ call to Holiness”.

Cabinteely 

Join Fr. Alan Hilliard,  Chaplain, TU Bolton St.,  in St. Brigid’s Parish Pastoral Centre, Cabinteely tonight Monday 25th March from 8.00-9.30pm – on the theme Can holiness make any difference to our lives? .  PJ Lynch, Knock Basilica Artist and children’s book illustrator Kate Geenaway will speak on Monday night 1st  April 8.00-9.30pm on the theme of “Miracles and Moonshine”.  On Monday April 8th  from 8.00-9.30pm Fr. Patrick Claffey will address the  theme of ‘Secularisation: How do we respond?   There will be Q&A afterwards along with refreshments.

 

Ballyfermot Assumption – Read, Reflect, Respond, Rest

Every Wednesday during the Season of Lent in the Pastoral Parish Centre  of Our Lady of the Assumption, Kylemore Road Ballyfermot at 7pm, we will have the prayerful reading of the following Sunday’s Gospel. This helps to understand and pray the message of Jesus in the Scriptures.  All are welcome. Make an effort to grow your faith this Lent.  All welcome.

Kilmacud 

Come along for our series of talks during lent in our Parish office meeting rooms at 7.30pm each Wednesday evening.  On the 27th March  Fr. Michael Screene will look at Life and Hope for the Church from the big picture and trends around the world. We will look at many signs of hope and healthy challenge for our church as we look ahead.  On the 3rd April our talk will be on Vatican II –  Fire, Inspiration and Christian energy in many practical ways.  We will look at healthy changes emerging especially in the four major documents and where they are leading us. On Wednesday, 10th April we will look at a piece by Seamus  Heaney – Where Hope and History Rhyme. – This lecture will gather signs of hope and also directions emerging for our parishes and church in general.

Forgiveness and Mercy and the Sacrament of Reconciliation.

Contemplative Prayer – not just for monks!   An engaging form of prayer. Fr Donal will introduce contemplative prayer in the tradition of St Ignatius Loyola (Jesuit founder) and lead a guided scripture contemplation.

April 2nd

Holding on to Life (in its fullness) – Fr Alan Hilliard from 7.30-8.45pm.

What do us hold onto in the busy life of today and the conflicts within the church; what do we hold onto in a time of change.  Hear what Jesus suggests. Fr Alan, local from Coolock, is chaplain in   TUI, Bolton St.

April 9th

Forgiveness and Mercy and the Sacrament of Reconciliation from 7.30– 8.45pm.

Sr Imelda Wickham, Prison Chaplain and Presentation Sister, will lead us in a reflection on this central aspect of our Christian life.

 

Rathfranham

Looking at Life Through the Lens of the Gospel

Parish Centre, Willbrook Road, Rathfarnham at 8pm a Lenten Journey will be facilitated by Fr. John Byrne &  Dr. Bernadette Toal (formally of Orlagh).  The programme will run for the seven weeks of Lent.

Even though the programme has started new comers are welcome.

Each session will run for approx. 1 hour and include a cuppa!

Cabra

Meditations on the Face of Christ take place every Wednesday evening of Lent in the Church of Christ the King Cabra from 7-8pm.

 

Scriptural Rosary takes place every Thursday morning of Lent after the 10am Mass in the Church of the Most Precious Blood Cabra West.

 

Stations of the Cross take place on the Fridays of Lent at 9.30am in the Church of Christ the King Cabra and the Church of the Most precious Blood Cabra West and at 2.40pm in St. Peters Phibsborough.

 

 

Phibsborough

Prayer breakfast takes place every Friday morning of Lent at 7am in St. Peters Church Phibsborough. Time to pray, reflect and chat about the Gospel and lent over a hot cuppa and a bun.

 

“Seeing the Gospel” (Visio Divina) Takes place every Tuesday of Lent at 11 am and 7.30pm in St. Peters Phibsborough.

Sr Louise’s Congregation evangelises through art and beauty and bringing people to know Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament.   She is Assistant Vicar for Religious in the Archdiocese of Dublin.

 

7 April at 4.00pm  – Brokenness and Hope –  Rosemary Lavelle

A short insight into the Psalms which have the theme of Brokenness and Hope, singing four of the Psalms.  Rosemary is a Pastoral Coordinator in the Diocesan Office for Evangelisation, working with parent groups, Parish Pastoral Councils and Adult Faith Groups.

 

14 April at 4.00pm  – On the Move – Patricia Higgins

Ways to connect with God in the midst of busy family life. Where can we find God in our lives today?  Patricia is married with three young kids, and currently works part-time as a manager with an IT charity.  She studied Theology and has worked with faith-based communities both in Ireland and overseas.

 

Journey into Freedom Talk – Old Bawn and Bohernabreena, Tallaght

Join the parishes of Old Bawn and Bohernabreena as they reach out to the people of Tallaght with a series of talks during Lent.  Leading social justice campaigner, Fr. Peter McVerry, will lead a presentation with stories of Hope shared over six weeks from early March to encourage people to better understand the influence of God’s presence in their busy lives and to lead to freedom of spirit. Showband star Eileen Reid and former All Ireland winning Dublin footballer Ger Brennan will also share testimonies. The presentations will be held in St. Maelruain’s Primary School (Snr) at 8.00pm on the following dates:  25th, April 1st , 8th  and 15th.
