Our Annual Faith Fest Retreat kicked off on Sunday 23rd June, 25 young people from the Dublin Diocese travelled to Ovoca Manor for the annual Faithfest retreat. The theme of the retreat was #livingtheblessedlife.
Over the three days, the teens were encouraged to see the blessings, be the blessings and live the blessings. They heard inspiring testimonies from Eric Hughes and Josh Johnston, engaged in different forms of prayer and experienced outdoor activities that included; leap of faith, archery, climbing wall and making camp fires. Special thanks to Eric Hughes, Josh Johnston, Scripture union, Ovoca Manor Staff and the Faithfest team for helping the teens to build friendships and encounter God in the beautiful, peaceful surroundings of Ovoca Manor.
Check out some of the feedback
from the teens below:
“The highlight of the retreat was that we are not alone in our faith, there are many other like minded young people. I now have to be brave to go back into my own town where there is a diverse view on religion and take my courage to stand tall before God. Faithfest gave me the opportunity to gain strength in my own beliefs”
“My favourite thing about the retreat is that it is so inspiring. Everyone was so nice. I felt very welcome. I like the idea in which we have a talk and a discussion after. Everyone was given a chance to speak up.”
“My favourite part of the retreat was the talks and personal stories, really nice leaders and friendly people”
“I really thought the team work would be challenging but everyone was so kind and supportive so we all worked together really well. Everyone was so kind and friendly that I felt really comfortable being myself with my new 20+ friends”.
