Volunteering in your Parish/Parish Partnership

In Autumn 2025, at the Building Hope Pastoral Gatherings and at the Finance Briefings held in the five pastoral areas of the Archdiocese, a new resource was launched entitled Volunteering in your Parish/Parish Partnership. It can be found here.

The volunteer resource covers areas such as: roles & responsibilities of parishes and volunteers, volunteer policy, discernment and selection, induction, volunteer & confidentiality agreements, code of conduct.  It links with the Voluntary Ministry Matters Resource (a Guidebook for PPCs), the Archdiocese of Dublin Statement of Mission and the Building Hope Pastoral Strategic Planning Resource 2025-2027. It guides towards and supports best practice in volunteering in a registered charity, and centralises the documents which parishes will need to assist in compliance with their various legal and regulatory obligations.

It is hoped that it will be helpful and supportive to volunteers, and to parishes and partnerships of parishes who are making it their priority to build new team ministries and/or refresh those already established.
