Crosscare launches Food Poverty Appeal

On Monday, December 1, the Archdiocese’s social care agency Crosscare launched its Christmas Food Poverty Appeal at its Portland Café in Dublin.

A Crosscare spokesperson said: ‘Thank you to everyone who joined us in the Portland Café this morning for the launch of our Christmas Food Poverty Appeal.

‘This year, nearly 3,000 people – including 1,200 children – turned to us for basic food supplies and support. At our Portland Row Community Café, almost 12,000 low-cost meals were served.

‘As demand increases in the weeks leading up to Christmas, we are seeking financial support to ensure every family who calls us receives the support they need, now and in the New Year.

‘Any donation – large or small – will help families in crisis this Christmas.

‘Your contribution will provide food, stability, and pathways toward independence for those who need it most.‘
