History

Constituted 1927 from Glasthule. Parish church was built in 1841. Cardinal Newman resided at Mount Salus, Dalkey, in the late summer of 1854. St Begnet is the Local Saint of Dalkey. A church ruin and several streets bear her name and an icon dedicated to St Begnet hangs inside the church.
